Cavli C17QS modules use their LTE Cat 1bis technology and optional GNSS tracking capabilities to simplify global connectivity and tracking solutions. With an optional integrated iSIM under development, C17QS is capable of ensuring remote monitoring and seamless global coverage. The module comes in a world-wide variant which can be deployed according to customer requirements. The C17QS series, with its power saving and DRx/eDRx modes, ensures prolonged life cycles in both battery powered and externally powered use cases.

The small form-factor and versatile interfacing capabilities ensure that C17QS is ideal for solutions requiring great connectivity and tracking capabilities – particularly those which are constrained by space and power limitations.

The migration of cellular networks from non-standalone (NSA) to standalone (SA) 5G introduces a major opportunity for IoT; the advent of RedCap devices.

The EM8695 is Semtech’s first-generation 5G RedCap module, compliant with 3GPP Release 17 Sub-6 and 3GPP Release 16 LTE radio performance. Supporting 25 worldwide 5G NR bands and 29 LTE bands, the EM8695 is ideal for global deployment with approval from multiple NAM, EMEA, and APAC carriers. Supporting USB 2.0 interface with enhanced uplink performance, high power user equipment (HPUE) features, and power saving features, the EM8695 is an ideal solution for customers looking to migrate from LTE CAT4/6 to 5G. For areas not yet covered by 5G SA, the EM8695 falls back to 4G, offering the benefits of RedCap where available while assuring reliable connectivity elsewhere.

The EM8695 supports 5G bands that are licensed for private 5G networks, making it a perfect choice for IoT developments intended for smart industry applications.

®The C10QM has been developed within the Cavli portfolio as part of a series of LTE Cat 1 modules that adhere to 3GPP release 10. With its LGA form factor, it offers pin compatibility with the C10GS LTE Cat 1/Cat 4 and C20QM LTE Cat 4 modules, allowing for flexible migration and interoperability. The C10QM module includes in-built GNSS featuring Qualcomm® IZat location technology Gen8C Lite, ensuring accurate and dependable positioning via GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou/Compass, Galileo, and QZSS. Additionally, it offers support for VoLTE, and SMS over IMS/SG/CS, as well as compatibility with various internet protocols and standard industry interfaces that guarantee unbridled accessibility. The module comes in two variants: C10QM-EAJ for the Europe and Asia market, and C10QM-NA for the North America market. Additionally, with the help of the optional integrated eSIM powered by Cavli Hubble platform, the global connectivity on offer reduces time required to market. The C10QM module was designed with consideration for IoT and M2M applications, hence the module is well suited for tasks such as asset tracking, e-mobility, data loggers, fleet management, and environmental monitoring.

The C10QM module includes an application processor running a Yocto based linux distribution and is capable of supporting multiple peripheral devices. For volume applications, customer applications can be hosted. The SDK includes an API library for common functions and communication protocols, reducing appliciation development time.

C20QM is the series of LTE Cat 4 modules with 2G fall back supporting 3GPP release 10, designed for IoT and M2M applications. It has a compact LGA form factor which is pin compatible with C10GS LTE Cat 1/ Cat 4 module which allows flexible migration. C20QM supports in-built GNSS based on Qualcomm Location Suite Gen8C for precise and dependable positioning. Based on Qualcomm’s 4th Generation SDX65 chipset, the EM9293 module supports 3gpp Release 16 features, offering optimised 5G NR performance for applications demanding Gigabit speeds by utilising 4×4 MIMO, 256-QAM together with Carrier Aggregation with up to three DL Component Carriers in 5G SA mode. A wide range of both 5G and 4G bands is supported, facilitating global 5G connectivity.

Offered on an M.2 form factor, the EM9293 maintains the footprint of the EM9191 module, offering a straightforward upgrade path to allow adoption of the latest standards and bands. It is also compatible with the EM7690 module, aiding in the smooth migration and differentiation between 4G LTE and 5G technologies. Two external SIM interfaces are available, offering a high degree of resilience to network outages.

The EM9293 has a separate MHF-7S GNSS connector, which can provide a DC bias voltage, allowing active GNSS antennas to be used directly with the device. The device features Secure Boot, preventing unauthorised firmware from being loaded and executed.
