On the 27th and 28th April 2016, Linkwave Technologies will be joined by Sierra Wireless at the annual UK Device Developers’ Conference and inaugural H/W Expo – a free, combined two-day event for software and systems engineers and hardware developers.
Together they will demonstrate new, exciting Sierra Wireless products and applications alongside a workshop which will provide an introduction to building, developing, debugging and installing simple applications on a Sierra Wireless WP Series embedded module, using the Linux-based Legato platform.
“We believe that Sierra Wireless’s Legato platform, running on the WP range of modules, offers a powerful and versatile platform for IoT applications,” said Andrew Newton, Managing Director at Linkwave Technologies.
“The close integration of application and communication functional blocks, together with a rich, well featured programming environment, provides an excellent starting point for small, low power, highly capable devices.”
Attendees will also have the opportunity to see a presentation by Sierra Wireless, which will cover Project mangOH™ — a new category of open source hardware platforms for the Internet-of-Things (IoT).
Thibault Cantegrel, Director, Developer Program at Sierra Wireless, said: “This presentation will highlight the technical concepts of both the MangOH hardware and Linux-based Legato software which make mangOH a great development platform for IoT products.
“In addition to the presentation, the hands-on workshop will allow developers attending the session to experience the development and prototyping of an end-to-end sensor-to-cloud IoT application.”
The event will also coincide with the launch of the Linkwave PiloT – a 3G/HSPA communications HAT for the Raspberry Pi.
